Legnago and the Plain of the Doges

They say that the flatland viticulture has less value: taste our wines and change your mind

Legnago is located south of Verona, in the heart of the plain. This humid climate presents its own challenges, but it also boasts fertile, water-rich soil that, if properly cultivated and managed, is incredibly generous and can yield grapes of unexpected quality.

Studying the soil and grape varieties was essential to choosing which ones were best suited to the composition of our land, which is of three types: sandy, clayey, or mixed.

Precisely for this reason, Annafrancesca also has its own Crus: portions of vineyard selected and cultivated to produce specific wines with unique characteristics.

There isn't the typical temperature range of a hillside, which is why not all grape varieties are suited to growing here, and they must be carefully selected. We've done just that, and that's why our Moscato Giallo is rich in aromas, our coppery Pinot Grigio has great character, and our Merlot, the King Merlot, gives us rounded, structured wines every year, rich in color and intense varietal aromas.

180 degrees of sky...

Summer evenings in the Annafrancesca vineyard are never too hot, because a punctual breeze blows while we work, letting us know the day is almost over. Gradually, even the noise of the tractors fades to make way for the sounds of a thousand varieties of birds, and our minds imagine ourselves in an exotic place.

Tourism in Legnago

The Annafrancesca vineyards are hidden from view by the main communication routes, but they are easily accessible with the right directions. The connection to Lake Garda and the nearby cities of Verona, Rovigo, Ferrara, Padua, Mantua, and Vicenza is also very convenient thanks to the SS434 transpolesana and the nearby highway connections A31, A4, and A13.

Legnago offers many interesting tourist attractions, even for those visiting from abroad: from the Salieri Theatre to the Fioroni House Museum, the long cycle path along the Adige River that reaches the sea, horseback riding trails, educational farms, and a rich selection of quality food and wine, hotels, villas, and farmhouses, including luxury ones, and, of course, our winery, for tastings, tours, vineyard events, and wine shop purchases.

We collaborate with tour operators, wedding planners, and local hotels for tasting events at the winery, in the vineyard, or directly at guests' accommodations.

Visitors immerse themselves in an oasis of peace, gazes lost in the vineyards. A short stroll takes you to the relaxing park and the native grove facing the lake, a stopover for migratory birds. Even in summer, a constant breeze often mitigates the heat.
